Designated Off-Road Vehicle Trails (for public use)

  • Snaggy Mountain ORV Trail: This trail is open to two-wheel and four-wheel vehicles during specific parts of the year (basically, from Spring until the beginning of winter).
  • Piney Mountain ORV Trail: This trail is open to two-wheel and four-wheel vehicles from May16- December 14 (once again, essentially from Spring to the beginning of winter)
  • Laurel Run Road ORV Trail: Baltimore drivers can utilize the Laurel Run Road ORV trail, which is a 2.4-mile stretch, from around spring time until the start of winter.
  • Wallman Road ORV Trail: This trail is open to two-wheel and four-wheel vehicles during the same time of year as the rest of the above trails (Spring until the end of Fall), and offers Baltimore drivers about 3.9 miles off off-roading space.
  • Meadow Mountain Trail: Portions of Meadow Mountain road can be utilized by four-wheeled vehicle owners from May 16- December 14. To ensure you know the specific parts of the trail open to four-wheel vehicle use, contact the Savage River State Forest beforehand.
