Located in Harford County is the city of Bel Air. Originally named "Scott's Old Fields", the name was changed by county commissioners to the more appealing "Belle Aire". The name has since gone through numerous changes, first to "Bell Aire" and then in 1798 it was transformed to its current name Bel Air. Harford's county seat is located in Bel Air on Main Street.
